Avoid reusing the same username and password. It may be convenient, but it\u2019s unwise.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Don\u2019t be afraid to use special characters.<br \/>\n<\/strong>They will strengthen your password. For example, creating a stronger password from \u201cmy2kids\u201d would look like: $My@K!ds<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>Use obscure and fictitious personal information.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Do the same with security questions and answers when registering or setting up accounts on websites, such as an additional email address from Yahoo or Gmail that you only use for online shopping.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> Don\u2019t forget to share the location of your password manager.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Share it with a trusted family or friend \u2013 giving a copy to your executor is recommended.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong> Back up, back up, back up!<br \/>\n<\/strong>Keep duplicate backups of your files, including your passwords. Securely keep the information in the cloud and on a local external hard drive that is password protected. <u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paageetcie.com\/blog\/\/whats-in-your-safe-deposit-box\/\">A fireproof and water-resistant safe<\/a><\/u> is a great place to store a hard copy of the information.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong> Use a two-step verification process.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Secure your online accounts by using a two-step verification process for additional protection. Two-step verification involves entering your account name and password along with an additional piece of information, such as a PIN or phone number.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><strong> Use password sharing among devices.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Today, most people have at least a smartphone and a tablet, making it challenging to store passwords on your computer only. A solution to enable password sharing among devices is to use a service like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\">Dropbox<\/a> that uses advanced encryption standards to protect your information. Move your password log to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\">Dropbox<\/a> folder and activate \u201cautomatic sync\u201d to access your passwords on the go.
